age doesnt matter so much as the slot. as long as it has the same slot, it should work. however, an older computer probably will not have the correct slot for a new graphics card
some common types of slots are:
AGP
PCI
PCI express 8x
PCI express 16x
along with many, many older ones
no, install the graphics card correctly in your computer and then proceed to install the drivers.
Yes, that is determined by the ports on your motherboard. Once you have a card that will work then you will go into the BIOS and disable the on-board graphics
It's really just a matter of removing the old one with a flat, thin tool and snapping the new one in, but you need to read the directions for each individual card.
Turn power off.Open computer case.Remove old graphics card.Place new one in place of old one.Close computer case.Turn power on.Install graphic card drivers.Play on.
Nope it doesn't matter what kind of ram you have in your graphics card as they are used for different things What does matter is what type of slots your computer has. Mine, for example, has slots only for PCI cards and I must buy PCI. You can find out what type of slots your computer has by calling TigerDirect. install a standard driver first prior to shut down and swapping of video card
If you do not have a graphics card, you will be unable to receive visual output from the computer.
regardless of the motherboard and the graphics card type, installing a graphics card is standard. You need to find the pci express 16 slot on the motherboard. It should be the largest of the pci slots, and if you cant find them, you shouldn't be fiddling around inside your computer! Take out the metal cover on the case so it fits, and slot the card in until it clicks into place. Then start up the computer and install the graphics driver off the CD
