Yes. Several occupations in the military do not require a security clearance. More to the point you can't get a security clearance on your own. You have to be "sponsored" for one. For example you join up and have no clearance but you need one the military will "sponsor" you, essentially saying hey this guy is going to be handling sensitive material and needs to be checked out. You will fill out some forms and depending on the level of clearance required they will look at your lifestyle and finances for the last 10 years or since you turned 18, which ever is shorter.

No, you cannot join the army without a security clearance. A security clearance is required for military positions that involve access to classified information or assignments that require a high level of trust. The clearance process involves a thorough background investigation and evaluation of an individual's loyalty, character, and trustworthiness.

Do you have to be in the army to join delta force?

No. While foreign nationals are permitted to serve in the US Armed Forces, there are limitations as to what they can and cannot do. In the 'cannot do' list is any position which requires a security clearance, which effectively rules out any special operations unit. Also note that individuals are not selected for these units - they volunteer. To the answer above - YOU ARE WRONG -. Foreign Nationals can and do have security clearances. My boss was not a US Citizen and he had a clearance. The highest clearance, in fact, is with DOE. As for a british soldier joining delta force - No, because he is still a member of the british armed forces. If he came here legally, he may indeed be able to join depending on his contributions.

Does the Army MOS 35M require a security clearance or a TOP secret security clearance?

In the related links box below, I posted the information. Unfortunately, it does not seem like Dr. Q really answered your question. The answer to the question is YES it requires a security clearance. However, it should be advised that while the fact that the postition requires a clearance and an individual has a clearance is not classified information, both should not be advertised. If you want specific information regarding clearances, I recommend speaking with a recruiter directly. TOP SECRET
