Yes, there is not a guideline or instruction that prohibits joining the military because of a scar. The reason you have the scar, or the reason the scar is there medically, may be a different story. If you have a medical condition that required that scar to occur, such as open heart surgery, and the scar is from the operation, the condition of why you had the open heart operation may be the precluding condition that would not let you join the military.

Talk to a recruiter, they'll tell you what they think. It's usually decided on a case-by-case basis meaning they could say no to somebody else but yes to you.
