I have had an Indian Myna Bird as a pet since I found it orphaned on a footpath nearly two years ago. We had to hand feed it for about 2 months every couple of hours which was hard work but rewarding also. We decided to keep it as a pet as we did not want to have it put to sleep at the vet which is what happens as they are a pest and cause many problems with native wildlife here in Australia. It seems to be very happy in its cage and sings and talks all day long. It impersonates different sounds like washing machine, walking up steps, copies voices although it tends to mumble rather than speak clearly. We feed him/her soaked puppy pellets and fruit and a bit of cheese. It is not like a parrot in the way you can interact with it because when you approach the cage it tends to get nervous and flaps, but I do go up to it and talk and then it looks at me and whistles non stop wolf whistles which is really amusing.
