How does an electric blanket work?

An electric blanket can keep you warmer on cold days:A regular blanket can provide you a standard amount of it which cannot be switched or controlled. You cannot really do anything if the heat given off by your blanket is too much or too less. However, with an electric heated blanket, you will generally get a remote controller which can be used to switch between various temperature levels as per your personal preference. This is especially good when it comes to keeping yourself warmer on cold nights and days in the dead of winter when regular blankets just can’t help you out as much as you want it to. This will help you feel more comfortable no matter what the weather is like so that you can move on with your daily tasks with ease. By keeping yourself warmer in the cold weather, you can also keep yourself safe from unwanted diseases.A heated blanket can be helpful in protecting your body from harmful diseases:There are a surprisingly large number of diseases that you can be affected by being exposed to the cold weather. If you are someone who suffers from low immunity levels, it is more important than anything else to keep yourself warm and safe from all the dangerous diseases that the winter season can bring along with it. For this purpose, a heated throw blanket can be extremely helpful, not only for you but for your entire family as well. Whenever you feel ill, you can cover yourself up with an electric throw blanket in order to speed up your healing process and to prevent it from escalating. An electric throw blanket is convenient to use as well as to maintain:The best part about an electric heated throw blanket is that you can use it as per your convenience just like a regular blanket, even though it is a lot more effective. It can also be washed like a regular blanket. This is because most heated throw blankets have electric parts that can be easily removed. Once such parts are removed, you will be able to wash it in a washing machine or as per your convenience. You can even attach the electric parts of the blanket to a regular blanket and use it as a heated throw if you want. Moreover, a good heated electric throw blanket will have a long power cord which will make it even more convenient when you wear it while moving ahead with your daily chores.A heated throw blanket can be used by all the members of your family without safety concerns:Most customers express their concern over their safety while using an electric heated throw. This is because a lot of people are worried that using an electric blanket might increase their chances of being affected by electric shock. However, the truth is that it is as safe to use an electric blanket as it is to use a regular one. An electric blanket of good quality will always be designed to protect the user from any danger that can be caused by the electric parts of the blanket. It is not only safe for adults to use, but also for older children and pets as well. For all these reasons and more, it is a good idea to invest in an electric heated throw. But make sure to put your safety first and buy an electric heated throw of good quality only.If you confused which product to be used, you can try protragen electric heating blanket as I use the same, its an amazing product.

Can you sleep with an electric blanket left switched on?

Since the late 1980's, electric bedding in the USA has been designed to be used at low wattage or a low level of heat all night long. This has prevented many of the fires that used to happen in this country and still do occur in some other countries that continue to use higher wattage products. Today the watts consumed or heat level is so low that unless your body or an over-blanket traps the generated heat, you will hardly feel the warmth. Do not be concerned over this! Try sleeping with a product and you will readily see that its heat is more than sufficient to keep you warm all night even in a very cold room (50 degrees F. or even cooler with additional bedding). As an added benefit, users in the USA can derive therapeutic benefits from the low level of heat spread over many hours -- for lots more info, see the Health and Safety tabs at the Consumer Guide of the Electric Blanket Institute, the bible for electric bedding information.(Note: In some other countries, electric mattress covers or blankets are designed to produce lots of heat to warm the bed prior to getting in and then the heated blanket or cover is unplugged for the remainder of the night. These products do not need a heat controller and many do not even have an ON/OFF switch. One plugs them in to warm up the bed and then unplugs them to stop the heating.)

Can you put an electric blanket on an electric bed?

Yes. But it's always best to read the manufacturer's instructions FIRST because SOME strongly recommend REMOVING all other blankets from on top of the bed before using the electric blanket. Additional bedding can cause the elements to overheat and result in fire. I know people who put blankets on top of their electric blankets and have never had a problem, but PLEASE BE SAFE and read the instructions before using.

How to Warm a Memory Foam Mattress in Winter?

A memory foam mattress can be one of the most comfortable ways to sleep. Like all mattresses, they adapt to the ambient temperature in a home. While the density of ordinary mattresses does not change based on temperature, memory foam mattresses do. As they cool, they get denser and cooler. Keeping them warm in the winter when the house temperatures at night may be colder will keep the mattress much more comfortable. Using a mattress heater with a memory foam mattress will keep the bed nice and warm and uses electricity instead of body heat to warm the bed and soften the foam. The heated mattress pads can be turned on shortly before going to bed and the temperature can be adjusted to suit the preference of the sleeper. On rising in the morning, the heaters can be turned off to save electricity when the bed is not used. Electric blankets can also be used to warm memory foam mattresses in the winter. Like mattress heaters, the temperature can be adjusted to suit the sleeper. Preheating the bed by turning the blanket on medium to high levels should not take too long and the controls can be turned down once the bed is up to a comfortable temperature. Some of the electric blankets have timers on them which could be useful for turning the blanket on and off to prepare for a good night’s sleep. An electric blanket must be used above the sheets. By using either a mattress pad or an electric blanket, the bed will stay much warmer all night long, combined with natural body heat. While these supplemental heaters use electricity, they will make it much more comfortable to sleep at night. In fact, some people use the heaters or blankets so that they can turn the thermostat down at night, which can be a sensible way to save considerable money on energy costs all winter long.

Will 24 ft diameter pool heat faster by the sun or with a solar blanket during the day?

Adding a solar blanket will definitely increase the amount of heat gained and held by the water each day compared to using no solar blanket at all. And remember to keep the solar blanket on at night also to keep the heat from the day in the water rather than transferring to the air. Hope this helps ... I disagree. While I have no "data" either way, my experience (and common sense) tells me: On a sunny calm (not windy) and warm day, you will gain more heat with the solar blanket off than on (since the blanket actually blocks some of the sun). On a windy, cloudy, or cold day, evaporation cooling may be greater than the sun warming effect so leaving the blanket on makes sense. Leaving it on day or night also makes sense if conserving water or chemicals is your main goal (reduced evaporation). Leaving it on at night or when the temperature of the water exceeds that of the air by some amount also makes sense. Leaving it off day and night early in the season when the water is colder than the air also makes sense (it will hold the cold in). Leaving it on too long (day or night) makes your pool green. Make any sense?
