If you leave out plenty of food, water and things to do it should be ok to leave it for a week at most but make sure there is another rat, plenty of food and water as I said and no where for them to get out.

Well my pet rat loves sliced red apples but i only give it to him once a week, and you can also give them dried banana chips. WARNING never give them lettuce as it will give them diorhia.
If it has another rat with it, is supplied with lots of food and water supplies, things to keep it occupied and no where for it to get out of the enclosure. But if you do leave it for a week follow these tips and give it ALOT of love and attention when you see it again.
You can help a rat have a longer life if you keep it healthy (water food exercise) and keep the rat in a clean cage (claening at least once a week)
