To many bad things that could happen...
...Just hire a sitter to check on them every other day.

∙ 14y agoIf they are in a small house-cage, no. They must be placed with a trusted friend for care.
If they are in a large cage, make sure there are plenty of water bowls, and in places where they are least likely to be fouled by the birds' droppings. It's one thing to have a "waterer", but it's another thing to actually keep the water clean. The waterer should definitely be tested out for a few days prior to leaving the birds alone.
Also, several bowls of seed would need to be placed around the cage, and up off the floor, hanging by a narrow wire from the ceiling of the cage, so that the local mice don't take advantage of the free food. Again, this should be tested before leaving the birds, so you have a clear idea of how much seed is needed.

Most dog owners work out of the home and leave their dogs inside for the entire day. If the Yorkie is house-trained and has an ample amount of water available to it, there is absolutely no reason it cannot be left alone.
