You can own a short barrelled shotgun anywhere. The question is, do you have a license for an AOW (any other weapon) or a Class 3 license. That is the only way to own a short barrelled shotgun. To be termed a short barrelled shotgun, the barrel length has to be less than 18 inches when measured from the chamber (on a closed bolt) to the end of the muzzle. Washington Will NOT allow a Shot Barreled Shotgun they Are reguired to be Destroyed the gun if a Police agency Takes control on the Gun look up Washington Wacs. Best thing to do is detroy the Short Barrel and look for a Legal Lenght Barrel to replace it. Try a gunbroker or online.
About $900 apparently. If you're in the UK it is actually an illegal shotgun and will need to be on a firearms certificate as the barrel is to short.
When the short & wad do not exit the barrel when fired, you have a squib fire, on any gun.

The length of a shotgun barrel is federally regulated and is 18 inches. Barrels come in 18 inch length's but i recommend the 18.5 inch barrel, just in case guys measuring has a old knarled up measuring tape.
Nerf has recently debuted the Barrel Break IX-2, a double-barrel shotgun that uses Whistler darts. It has very short barrels, though. If you want a longer one, you can go to BuzzBee and their Double Shot weapon.

The BATFE website will give you the federal answer for barrel length and overall length. Whether a state is more restrictive is something you will have to find out from each state.
Federal law requires that a shotgun have a minimum barrel length of 18" and a minimum overall length of 28". Colorado law is not more restrictive.
