A SGM file is created when you Save a State using the VBA emulator to open this file you need to load the Firered game onto the VBA like normal then go under File then Load State a window will appear to the right showing all the States you have created select the correct State you want to load by clicking on it then the emulator will load up that State.
It depends on your system, if your using a emulator, such as VBA, or NO$GBA, you have either inserted the code for another game, or, you have inserted the code wrong.
No, the VBA emulator will not play GameCube games. The VBA emulator plays Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games.
You play the game to a point where you can save. save the game. Wait until in the bottom left corner it says wrote battery or something like that. Exit VBA. turn it on again but don't pick a ROM just go back to your VBA folder go to battery saves click on it. click on the file.go to options go to "add gameshark codes" add codes. Exit VBA again go on it again and go to your ROM and start your ROM once and then again and it will say in the bottom left something like "battery loaded".
cos you need a 1M serquit board only found in a gba.
You open load game and then there are numbers, numbered to 0 to 10. In which number you saved it on click on that and the point were you saved on will come up.
Click file on the top right of it when you open vba and then click open and select the game file
hey, this is because vba sucks.the memory space is very less so every time u beat the elite four the game will reset. i had the same prob,so i got a hand held.
My problem is this. ive downloaded Visual Boy Advance 1.7.2 for mac It works fine with my pokemon emerald game. I can save and load my own saves. However i need a complete save. I downloaded one and converted it to .sgm My rom is called Pokemon Emerald.gba and my save is Pokemon Emerald1.sgm This means that when i press F1 it tries to load the save. However it says its incompatible or something. Please help me. this is urgent
You can't save using the in-game menu when you use an emulator. Instead, and this is for the VBA specifically, go to File > Save Game > and choose the slot you'd like to use. When you want to play the game you saved, open up the game file as per usual and then go to File > Load Game > choose your game.
VBA is an emulator for GameBoy Advance, while HeartGold is a game for NDS.
