well if the person has had a recent ilness or is suffering from shock-it is possible hair can fall out and grow back in a different style e.g. straight, also pregnancy could affect hair as your baby is getting more nutrience than you and hair can become frizzy and in a bad condition and turn straighter, but if not most likely cause is probably excessive straighteng :)
