-just go into the "My Gaia" window -scroll to the "Settings" tab on the same window, -in the list that appears beneath the settings tab, click on "Profile Options" -in this screen you should find a box filled with content that has been labeled "Theme Override" -you must delete the content typed in the box and the select "Save Changes" at the bottom of the screen.
Log into Gaia Online. Hover over MY GAIA and then go to ACCOUNT SETTINGS. Scroll down until you see AVATAR GENDER. Then in the paragragh, you will see DELETING YOUR AVATAR which is in blue with an underline. Click on that.
