I make really good sims on The Sims 2, but then that's probably because I have all the expansion packs! Make every sim unique, change their face. Don't make them look dyslexic, just different. Use a variety of clothes, hair, facial hair, glasses, make up, hats and jewellery.
The Sims 2 bodyshop is a place where you can make custom sims and clothes for them.
custom sims can be done by using Body shopgo to Start/All programs/your latest Sims 2 game/ Body shopit might take a little while to open but when it does you can create sims.
