It depends on the state in which the child(ren) and parents live. If the courts are so inclined to listen to a child, then I believe that in most states its age 13. It really just depends on the state and the statutes regarding the custodial situations.

You certainly cannot leave home at 12. Until you reach the age of majority, which is normally 18, you are considered a minor. You live where your parents direct you to live.
