3D discs will only work in 3D if the television is designed to support 3D. Most Bluray players should be capable of playing a 3D disc as 2D and so any television should be able to display the movie in 2D.
This applies to LG and all other brands of television.
I would recommend LG Cinema 3D. LG Cinema 3D TVs are 3D TVs that use LED backlighting so both you and your fiance get what you want. I had the same dilemma with my girlfriend and we're both happy with LG Cinema 3D. Its LED backlighting gives brigther and more crisp images in both 2D and 3D. Ours is LW6500.
a samsung or lg 3d led tv has to be the best.

If Sims Social is compatible on 3D then yes.
No. Cinema 3D is brand name of LG. Vizio uses the same technology, originally use in theaters but use a different name.
LG 3D TVs have the cheapest glasses. The passive 3D TVs that is. They require the use of polarized lens which will work on almost any passive 3D TV and the cinema as well.
There aren't a lot of video games designed specifically for 3D. More 3D games will be released as 3D televisions become more popular.

The choice of a 3D television shouldn't be made based on specifications or reviews by other people. Sony, Samsung and LG all offer good 3D models and it is important that you get to experience each of them. Your viewing enjoyment is far more important than any specification. Always choose the model that is most enjoyable and comfortable for you and your family.
LG calls its 3D technology Cinema 3D so the 3D models all use that title.
LG only make passive 3D television. They do not supply any models that are active 3D.
