Yes. There is no difference that I know of between a DVD burned on a computer DVD burner and a DVD burned on a "tv" DVD burner.
A disc drive serves an important purpose to all computers. A disc drive allows a computer to read CD's and play whatever content is on the disc. Without a disc drive, most computer software would not be able to perform.
Most of the time you do need to keep the disc in the drive to play the game. Manufactuers do this to make sure you are not installing the game on multiple computers.
Read my answer under the question How do you play a PC game without the disc in the disc drive? on this site.
Buy an external CD drive that plugs in with a USB.
You put it in the disc drive and it will play just like a dvd
if your laptop does not have anyplace to put the CD, then you have to buy an external drive for it. so basically an attachable disk drive in order to play the game.
