No, and there should be no reason to do so.

What would cause a 94 chev to start when cold but not when warm?

look at the ignition module. a known trouble spot.

Your car will start then after a few miles it dies then wont start for another couple hours?

I had a car that did that and in its case it was the ignition module. It would work fine when cold but fail when it got hot. It hasn't stalled since I put on the new ignition module.

Why does my ef Ford futura have no spark?

either the coil is cactus or the ignition module. i'd start there. fords have problems cos the coils overheat due to lack of cold air flow and they crack. this usually causes the ignition module to fail. if you change one, you change the other. also bad earths cause ignition modules to fail.

90 olds mod 98 always starts cold but after it gets warmed up and you turn it o MOST of the time it will not start for about 30 min?

have your ignition control module tested.(heat test) sometimes when the ignition control module goes bad , no starting/hard starting when vehicle is hot is a common symptom.follow up questionwhich is more likely the ignition control module or crank shaft rotation sensor and why?

Will a harley soft tail run with a bad ignition module?

It totally depends upon what is wrong with the ignition module. The ignition module's job is to know when the correct time is to send current to the ignition coil. This is what generates the "spark" in the plugs. If the module is not sending current to the coil, no spark, and thus no go. If the module is sending weak current to the coil, the spark will be weak, and that will lead to poor starting, underpowered performance, unburned gasoline getting to your exhaust, and other nastiness. If the ignition module is not firing at the correct time, then that is even worse; that can lead to pinging, knocking, incomplete combustion, lack of power, burned up pistons. Ignition modules also can become "heat" or "cold" sensitive, where they will run intermittently or not at all when they have warmed up, or when they are cool. So, the short answer is "maybe, but it isn't good."

Where is the ignition module located on a 1995 Ford Ranger 2.3L?

Hi, I thought it's attached to the side of the distributor. I may be wrong but I think that's where it is. I have a '94 with the 3.8 because I've considered buying the high performance one bout it's about $55.00 so I don't know, I haven't decided yet because it's still a bit too cold for doing most outside work here in MA.If I'm wrong please correct me. Thanks Steve H.

1991 Mazda mx6 just dies hot or cold and turns over and over starts 1 hr later has new ignition coil and fuel pump whats up?

ignition module problem

How do you test the Ignition control module for a Nissan 300zx?

If you can start the engine when cold, but it sputters and stalls when it's warm, then you most likely have a bad ICM. When you crank the engine, if you have tachometer movement, then the module is good, if there's no tach movement while cranking then the module is bad. The tachometer gets the signal from the module, so if the tach works, then the module is good.

What is the problem if my car shakes more when it is cold out?

You probably need ignition work, but here's a test--spray WD40 on the distributor cap and plug wires and see if things improve.

On my 1993 Chevy Corsica 3.1 Liter Ignition Module checked out good new Speed SensorCoils goodcar will start when cold and run beautiful but will die when it gets warm has no spark at all?

Be sure to have the place that checks the Ignition Module to run the test at least seven times, this warms it up and helps check intermitant problems.

What are the symptoms of defective ignition module?

A bad ignition module is usually characterized by several frustrating symptoms. A classic example is when the engine will start, but when it gets hot, the ignition module's electrical properties change, cuasing the car to die suddenly, but restart after several minutes of cooling. Some people have reported pouring cold water on the ignition module causes it to start when hot (mearly by cooling rapidly). Another way to test for this is to allow the engine to run for a total of 30 minutes, then gently tap the module with the back of a screwdriver. If the car fails, this is usually the source. Sometimes the car will not start at all, but this should lead to checking the ignition coil first. This is usually characterized by no spark, no combustion, but good power (or weak power) into the ignition coil. This is usually checked first, as both are common problems, but the ignition coil is usually 1/3 the price (or less) of the (often very pricey) modules (especially for later models). Basically, check for spark, if you dont have any, keep going back until you have checked the ignition coil, distibutor, ignitor, module (in that order) and any grounds, resistors, capacitors, etc. Check all for power in, out, positive, negative, and power out. Use a test light, a voltmeter (multimeter) and get a book for your car from the auto parts store. Or take it to AutoZone- they can test modules using a computer for FREE.

1986 ford bronco ll i get no spark when i crank it i have changed the coil distributor and pickup ignition module starter relay ignition swichand the key lock cylinder plugs and wires?

You may have a blown fusible link that needs replacing. NEW POST 6/11/2011 check and see if your rotor is spinning under your distributor. if it isn't you have sheared a pin. i would advise you to get a cold rolled pin from napa auto whenever you pull your distributor out. youll have to drop your oil pan to get the cam gear/distributor gear out if it dosent fall off when you pull the dizzy. make sure the cold rolled pin you get is snug in the hole's for your gear and your dizzy. take your #1 spark plug out and put your finger in it and have someone barely turn the motor over when you feel it air push your finger out of the spark plug hole. that means its close to TDC "top dead center. when you put your distributor back in make sure the rotor faces the #1 spark plug then replace the cap. i hope i helped ya
