It's not straightforward to convert between SPDIF and a stereo pair of RCA plugs. SPDIF is a digital standard (SPDIF is an acronym for Sony Philips Digital Interface) and a pair of RCA plugs is analogue. It is possible to buy adaptors that convert from one to the other; if you search for SPDIF to analogue (or analog) convertor with Google, you'll find a selection.
There is no difference in optical cable in terms of sound. If the signal is passing through, it is working. Having gold-plated end plugs or other cosmetic features is not necessary, since it is not an electrical connection. The only concern is getting the cable long enough so that it reaches the two devices without kinking. Sharp bends in optical cable can impede or block the transmission.
A 3.5 mm input is a line level signal, and a turntable has a phono level signal. You can connect these, but you will need a phono preamp to go in between the two. An RCA cable plugs into to the preamp from the turntable, and an RCA to 3.5mm cable connects the preamp to the stereo.
The yellow cable is the video. It plugs into the yellow video input jack. The white and red, or black and red cables are left and right audio. The connect to the audio in or out jacks.
The PS3 is capable of outputting video from its HDMI port, while at the same time outputting audio from the PlayStation AV port. You would connect anyPS2/3 AV cable that had stereo RCA outputs (the pair of red and white plugs), but you would not connect the video plug(s) of that cable (S-video, RGB plugs, or a yellow plug). You would leave the video connectors unplugged because you are using HDMI for video. But a better option would be to connect a cable from the PS3's optical audio port for surround sound. If your surround receiver has a digital optical audio input, use that. It will allow you to hear 5.1 channels of surround audio. The red and white RCA plugs can only support 2.0 channels of audio (stereo).
All HDMI cables shoudl fit all HDMI sockets, but the mechanical size of the plugs jacket could be a problem if space is tight around the socket. Be aware that there are now mini versions of HDMI connectors (so-called type C). If your cable or connector are different sizes you can purchase type adapters.
The side of the cable with the widest plug plugs into the bottom of your iPod and the other side of the cable plugs into a USB 2.0 port or to a wall adapter.
It is feeling silly and my other answer is it is behaving badly

UBS cords are used to connect devices to your computer. All UBS drives have a universal socket, which one side of the UBS cable plugs into. The other side of the cable plugs into the device you want to connect. For example, a camera cord
Just locate the distributor and follow any cable to the other end (except the one in the center) and that's the spark plugs
The better microphones use XLR-plugs as connection.
No. The cable provider has to authorize the other modem on the network before it can be used, and they will not do that, since they want you to pay for another cable installation.
Yes. . . . . .you need two things. A stereo patch cable with 1/8" male plugs on each end. Also you need an adapter with a female stereo 1/8" input-to-1/4" mono output. The patch cable plugs into the mp3 player where the headset usually plugs in.The other end of the patch cable plugs into the 1/4" adapter, and finally the 1/4" male end of the adapter plugs into the guitar amp.You can usually get there items at your local Radio Shack.
