The 4.0 Engine has not made much of a change to worry about. I installed a 4.0 from a 2001 Grand Cherokee into a 1988 Cherokee that had a 4.0. The only difference was that there is no place for the Knock Sensor. No big deal. I just left it unplugged. The coolant sensor for the computer is now located in the Thermostat housing. A new housing from the Jeep Dealer was only $13.00. The rest bolts right up. I hope this helps you out.
yes as long as it is the same size engine
With $$$ anything you want.
The 4.0L inline 6 was an option for that Jeep when it was built.
It will not work. There are 4 different types of heads for the jeep 4.0 go to some jeep blogs and you can get all the info. you need
Through the cap in the valve cover.
It is not a direct swap. They are not the same engine. The Jeep is an old AMC engine, the other is Chrysler.
the answer is no. 2002 was the first year the liberty was made. in 2003 they change the computer modules..the only engine you can put in a 2002 jeep liberty is a 2002 engine
In the cap on the front pass side of the engine.
