Since there is no answer yet, I'll add my two cents. I BELIEVE it is possible. I think that the engines are interchangeable like in two year increments or something. Like a 91 engine will go into a 91 or 92, and a 93 will go in a 93 or 94. However, I'm not certain.
-Revision- I don't think you can because of the completely different motor mount design. The 91s used a completely different design than the 92-02 models. I think the 92-95 models are interchangeable, the 96-99s and the 00-02s. Keep in mind the PCM might need reprogrammed at the dealer if you change years.
The mounts may be different between the years but leave the original mounts in when swapping. The 91/92 cranks are different than the rest of the years so you can only swap between thos two.
Saturn engine interchangibility.yes, by all means you can, the only thing is ..you have to match the ignition modules to the crankshaft. i.e. use a 93 module for the 93 crank and a 91-92 module for a 91-92 crank. there is a timing difference built in to the module for the crankshaft notches. that's about it. everything else will work.
No, it will not perform as it should. The 92 is OBD1 & the 2000 is OBD2. The ECU will not function correctly on this engine.
91 or 92.............................you needing an engine?
Sorry i had to delete your response Hub Yes for hub, he is absolutely correct. However not for a '92 into a '93. The problem is internal. The crankshaft is different in the '91-'92 engines. Because the timing of the fuel and spark is based of the crankshaft position sensor, the '92 in the '93 will NOT run. At all. you need a '93 - '94 engine. Or a '95 - '97 engine with an EGR adapter Correction, you CAN swap the motors as long as you also swap the computers
Yes it will.
No this will not work. Crank shafts are different
no the civic engine is a transaxle not rw
YES BUT. YOU SHOULD USE THE 1996 CRANKSHAFT AND THE 1996 INTAKE SO YOU NEED TO DISASEMBLE BOTH ENGINE TO DO ONE
92 is greater than -91. -91 is greater than -92, if that is what you meant.
Yes.
92 multiplied by 91 is 8,372
Yes. But the crank in the 91-92 won't fit the 93+. And the 91 motors are basket cases, avoid them.
