I bought 3 for all 5 of my hermit crabs.I have 8 now.Ok they may fight but my ones did'nt.If u first buy them they may fight.But it may not happen.

∙ 14y agoYou pretty much put them together. They will have antenna wars and then leg wars. After that the hierarchy will be settled and the alpha crab will reign.

yes although it would be wise to clean and disinfect it first, you don't know why your old crab might have died.

Put your new hermit crab in a bath of distilled water (make sure the water is no higher than the crab's legs) and let him/her crawl around in it for a while. Then, put your crabs back together and see how it goes. If that doesn't work, watch them for a while and maybe give them both baths. That happened to my crabs, but now they like each other.

no we had over ten hermit crabs in one cage and they were all fine.:) since they are both different sizes you should keep an eye on them but you shouldn't worry because hermit crabs are very social animals.
