Snow shoes are generally used for gravel or interlock surfaces. You wouldn't want a plows cutting edge on gravel, otherwise you'd be scooping that up with the snow too. The shoes help the plow float above the gravel, clearing most of the snow while leaving the gravel untouched. However, once a shoe meets a curb, the shoes don't last very long!
yes you can. You will have to put one of the new poly plows on. They are lighter, and generly smaller than a normal plow, but they work pretty well. Contact you local plow dealer. Westen, and Fisher both make plows for the Jeep liberty.

They first use a big plow to remove the layer of snow & rocks, then they put a layer of salt on top of the road, which will remove the last bit of snow and will also keep it snow clean for a while.
