The manifolds mount to the heads, and are pretty much interchangeable throughout the life of that engine. There were two different bolt patterns used from the factory, and most heads are drilled with both. It's a pretty easy fix to add the missing hole and tap it if you run into that problem.
Just remember that you must use gaskets if the heads are aluminum.
Used on 1955, 56, and 1957 Chevy small block V8.Applications for these manifolds include, but are not limited to:1955 & up SB Chevy 283 305 350 V8 engine.1958 - 1964 full size Chevrolet (Impala, Bel Air etc)1962 - 1965 Corvette.
yes there is.
pretty much any 454 exhaust manifold will fit
I do not own a '96, but as on all small-block Chvy motors, I believe, it is located on the left rear side of the engine block. The filter is relativly short, and is between the engine block and the exhaust pipe coming off of the left side exhaust manifold.
it will fit on any Chevy SMALL BLOCK of the same generation of your LT1
It is on the drivers side at the rear of the block. It may be above an exhaust pipe.
on the passenger side of the engine under the exhaust manifolds on the side of the block.
Yes, however, they both take different intake manifolds, so you will have to transfer the intake, as well.
Yes.
Find a book on casting numbers for chevys it will give you the year of the block the heads & the manifolds.
It is at the back of your intake manifold screwed into the engine block.
Unbolt from the block & take the nuts off studs to exhaust flange. You will need a new gasket for the block & a new one for the flange.
