Shocking should be done in order to kill the chloramines. It depends on your chlorine level. For residential pools it should be 1.5-2.5ppm. For commercial, chlorine should be 3.5-4.5ppm.
If you have just shocked, don't go in the water. The chlorine is probably 10-12ppm and will cause itching and burning. Wait until the level drops to a safe level, as stated above.
No it will just wear its self out after a while
The chlorine will dissipate over time so using too much isn't fatal. But make sure the pH is in the correct range before you shock the pool.
1/2 a bag will cover up to 5,000 gal & is still safe for a 3800 gal pool; use 1/2 a bag about every 4 to 6 days. Shock will clear the green but may not clear the cloudiness if you wait too long, but the water should still be safe to swim in; have your water tested by your pool professional at least once a week, it's usually free.
The pH increases, as will the alkalinity.
Cooper or coPPer ? Too much cOOper , then ask Cooper to get out of the pool !!
I'm assuming 15 round? Not much, start with 4 ounces of granular per week, monitor levels to see where total and free is at. Make sure to shock weekly, too. A chlorine based shock is your chlorine levels need to be raised, or a non-chlorine oxidizer if your chlorine levels are above 5 ppm.
the meaning of a sugar shock is were you have too much sugar in your body and your body natrually has a shock!!!
I would think this would be obvious...but whatever. If your pool is lopsided, it means the integrity of the sidewalls has been breached. Could have a blowout as it were. Too much water displacement can put too much pressure on the lopsided wall causing failure.
Yes too much shock can damage your skin or hair or worse. I wouldn't reccommend it.
any
A LOT-Unless you are put too sleep, there are chances you will go into shock and die. However if you are put to sleep it shouldn't be much of a bother until you wake up.
alkalosis? shock?
Liquid shock is 12.5% sodium hypochlorite. Clorox bleach is 5.95% sodium hypochlorite. It's the same stuff, but a lower concentration. You would have to calculate how much shock is needed for your pool and make adjustments for the concentration level. It works just as good as high priced "pool shock". i have a 12x36 pool ..........how much Clorox do i need to make it clear? its not green ,its foggy!! If your filter is working, and your water is balanced chemically, but still cloudy, perhaps your water has particles too small to be caught in the filter. This is what happened to me this year, after a spring season of record-breaking pollen levels. A pool service technician suggested that I add 20 lbs of alum to my 16x32 in-ground vinyl liner pool. I followed the directions on the alum bucket, and voila, my pool is crystal clear!
Opening a fiberglass pool really is not any different from any other pool. If the water is clear brush the walls, vacuum the pool and then shock it with 1 pound of 65% available chlorine calcium hypochlorite per 10,000 gallons of pool water mix the shock in a 5 gallon plastic bucket and then pour the liquid into the pool do not let the granules get into the pool they can bleach the surface of the pool. Then take a water sample to your favorite swimming pool store so that they can balance the pool water for you. I would also recommend the addition of a stain and scale inhibitor to protect against cobolting.
