yeah it's ok, but when they start to mature at 1 month, you should put them in separate cages.

unless they are brothers they can stay in together until about 4-5 months, then they will fight until one dies.

yes, that way they wont have any problems when they grow older because the have been brought up together. only it isn't a good idea to introduce an older male guines pig to another older one as they havent been brought up together and ma fight.

No, you should never keep male guinea pigs together. They may fight and hurt each other badly.

No! these two are more likely to fight after being separated. If the son is small the father will kill him over the territory and vice versa.

no guinea pigs are much bigger and only have very short tails and you keep them in big cages and hutches outside like rabbits but gerbils have long tails and are more like rats and mice and you keep them in small cages inside no, guinea pigs are bigger and gerbils have long tails Gerbils are a squirrel type animal that is found in America. They are also family of the South African field mouse.

How long can a guinea pig remember something?

Guinea pigs can be trained to perform behaviors. This is a type of memory, however the activity needs to be closely related to food/have food as a reward. For example, my five pigs all squeek loudly when the screen door slams (but not the heavy door) because they know I'm probably bringing them handfuls of grass. Also, I've trained them to run up the stairs. This was accomplished by having the cage open at the top of the stairs and showing them how to jump one step at a time. Addtionally, I have a "guinea pig song" that I sing to them, and then they begin to squeek (again knowing I am bringing them chow. In this case however, they don't respond to my children singing, but sometimes to the TV if the music is the same pitch. Guinea pigs remember each other for better or worse. Lucy, one of my pigs, normally lives with Chrysanthum (her daughter), but I doubt she "remembers" that it is her daughter. Both pigs are terrified of the other two dominant pigs and when placed together immediately freeze.

Do guinea pigs sleep during the day or during the night?

It depends on where you live as to whether you even allow your guinea-pig outside. Guinea pigs do not have a lot of tolerance for cold weather, so they should be kept inside or under cover in a dry hutch. However, if you live in a more temperate area, you can leave your guinea-pig outside in a secure hutch. If you release it to run in a garden, it will just graze on whatever grass or tasty plants it finds, and if danger approaches, it is likely to run and try to hide. Never leave guinea-pigs loose outside unsupervised, as they could be attacked and killed by cats and dogs. Guinea pigs are surprisingly fast and nimble if they are not very tame, and will try to run away. If you placed some plastic water pipes around the yard, they would probably run towards them as a place to hide. Once they're inside something like this, you can gently pick up the pipe (holding both ends so the guinea-pig doesn't slide out and fall heavily on the ground) and return the guinea-pig to its hutch. Guinea-pigs don't know if weeds have been poisoned, and they will likely eat things like thistles and dandelions. If these plants have been hit with weed-killer, it will cause the guinea-pig to die also.

How big does the guinea pig cage need to be?

guinea pig cages should be big enough for them to run around a little bit. and also have enough room for a little home ( something they can hide in, they like to be in "private"!). but the bigger it is, it makes it a little harder to clean.

Can you have a rabbit and a guinea pig?

In general, the two will live together happily. A large rabbit can potentially injure a guinea pig by kicking it with its powerful legs. However normally the two species are fine to put together, and they are commonly placed together in pet shops.

Is two or more kinds of matter placed together but which can be easily separated called a mixture or a solution?

Two or more kinds of matter placed together but which can be easily separated is called a mixture. In a solution, the stuff that is dissolved (the solute) "disappears" into the liquid (solvent) and separating the two isn't as easy as separating a mixture.

I just got a new younger guinea pig the older one I've had urinates on and treats it mean will she get over it?

Guinea pigs from separate litters that are about three months and younger can be housed together. However, if the guinea pigs are older and from different litters or if one guinea pig is older and from a litter separate from a younger guinea pig, then one or both of the guinea pigs may become stressed or jealous. This can also become dangerous because some guinea pigs may try to fight each other. The two guinea pigs should be placed in separate cages. So that they can become more familiar with each other, maybe they can be placed together in a play area for a few minutes. If one or both of the guinea pigs become stressed or attempts to attack the other one, then they should be placed back in their separate cages until they have time to calm down. It's possible that the older guinea pig will become use to the younger one, but both guinea pigs should be supervised while they're together so that there won't be any problems.

Will guinea pigs eat there babies?

The father guinea pig doesn't eat the babies, and neither does the mother. But always separate the father BEFORE the mother gives birth as she can become pregnant immediately after giving birth. This would be bad for her health, as her body needs some time to recover.

What happens if you dont separate the newborn hamsters from the mother after 28 days?

They should be fully weaned by about 21 day's, and the babys will be ready for separating from mum at around 28 days. They should then be separated and placed into single sex cages; here they can stay together for another 2 week. Usually placed together but, if there are values, within the overall range, for which no observations are possible, they could be spaced out.

Mongo seeds are not separated by filtration. They are soaked in water for a few hours to allow the seeds to swell. They are then removed from the water and placed in a container so they can germinate.

Should you make a pretend guinea pig for your guinea pig?

Really, the best thing for a guinea pig would be to get it a friend, but if you cannot do this for some reason, a mirror attached to the OUTSIDE of the cage will work too. It has to be placed on the outside, unless it has been tested safe for the pigs.
