What you do is get a friend bow(I did not have to do this) Go to Mt. Thunder It is 15 floors total including Mt. Thunder Peak Fight him and you should be able to recruit him I always recruited him on first try without friend bow This should help This applys for Moltres and Articuno as well

You have to recruit either zapdos, moltres or articuno to unlock legendary island. Go by yourself and carry a friend recruiting item eg. friend bow. thats how i did it. once you have all three birds it will unlock a side mission. Hope this helps ;D (sorry, have forgotten where you find the friend bow)

Yes you just has to be above level 60, and then Groudon will have a 2.5% chance of asking to join the team. However, it would be easier with a friend bow or if you are above level 90.

First you have to meet him of course when you become fugitives but he wont join you then. Then you have to beat Rayquaza. Make sure your at a reasonable Lv. to increase recruitment. Bring a friend bow to increase even more if you can. Go back to Mt. Thunder and at the peak battle Zapdos ON YOUR OWN! You can also chuck a yellow gummi to increase even more.(Untested) However I managed to recruit him when i knew next to nothing first time without friend bow or gummis or being a particularly high Lv. Hope I helped. :)
