Ask a nurse, or doctor,
i wouldn't worry too much about weaning off of Prozac...it's acclimating to effexor (and weaning off of it) that's tough.that said, effexor worked wonderfully for me, pulling me out of a very deep hole.it's just that it has side effects that can be pretty rough.
I would never take Effexor again. To wean off of it, you should ask your dr. to lower the dose. I heard that taking prozac for a few weeks can help get off of effexor. Doctors should use ECT treatments, that reset your brain sometimes, because that actually works. Very few anti-depressants work, maybe prozac. I guess it depends on the individual person what works.
The maximum dose for adults is 80mg/day
nope, Prozac does not come in 5 mg capsules. The lowest dose is 10 mg, and it is available in both capsule and tablet form.
Effexor (venlafaxine) is generally prescribed in increments of 37.5mg, with the highest recommended dose being 225mg. However, some people may need to take up to 375mg.
Consult your vet. It can be used for separation anxiety and such, but the wrong dose will harm your dog.
The recommended starting dose for Effexor is 75 mg/day, administered in two or three divided doses, taken with food. Depending on tolerability and the need for further clinical effect, the dose may be increased to 150 mg/day. If needed, the dose should be further increased up to 225 mg/day. When increasing the dose, increments of up to 75 mg/day should be made at intervals of no less than 4 days.
If you cut your dose in half for a week or so and then quit after that there shouldn't be any serious withdrawl symptoms.
I have been on Prozac for over twenty years, and take Mucinex whenever I am congested and take the maximum dose. (Prozac is only 20 mg.) There are no side affects that I have ever experienced, but I suppose every case is individual. Always ask pharmacist if unsure.
Very bad idea! Talk to your doctor about tapering the dose instead, side effects can be pretty severe depending on many factors if you stop abruptly taking Effexor or any antidepressant.
Reduce refers to your usage of non-recycleable materials.
Since the drugs deal with slightly different problems and you do not begin to give anywhere near enough information about your particular problem for anyone to make a decision how can you expect someone on the internet to give you advice on that issue? Not only are both of those drugs for slightly different purposes, but both should be closely monitored. If you are a 100 pound woman 200 mg of lamictal could be considered a fairly large dose. If you are a 225 pound man, 200 mg of lamictal could be considered a small dose. You need to explain to your doctor why you think you need to replace celexa with effexor. Normally effexor replaces a different type of drug. Still if celexa is not working, he may have misdiagnosed the problem.
