I would say yes to this although knowing that many people would disagree.
You should however have some medical knowledge. Knowledge about how deep moles go and how big an area you should affect around it is important.
My preferred method would be to freeze it away. Same freezing method that is used on warts and verrucas.
As long as it is not a cancerous mole, then this method should be safe. It rarely gives scaring but it might need a second or even a third treatment. It should grow smaller with each treatment, and in the end be gone forever.
I would leave it to a professional if the mole is in your face or thin skin on neck.
