What can kids play?
Im only 13. But i babysit my neighbors. They come over my house 3 times a week. It works out because my brother (8 yrs) gets along good with one one of the kids that come (also 8 yrs) The other kid is a girl (6 yrs) shes attached to me. so it can get a little out of control having 3 kids running around the house! My brother loves to play outside. The key is... Have a wild imagination. Be prepared to grab some chalk & draw a giant board game in the drive way. And make do with what you have. No baseball bats? Use a tenis racket kids love when you change the rules. Even if its not really rules, your not doing it how your suposed to. In teir eyes, your making it better. The other 8 year old i babysit, can get lazy sometimes. Persuade them (in a freindly way) to do something actuve. Sometimes all he wants to do is play video games. He loves mario cart. So we took the remote control cars outside and raced them pretending we were in the game. Again, always use your imagination! The last kid i babysit (the girl) is crazy! She has more energy than anyone iv ever met! Once she gets in a crazy mood, its hard to calm her down. Theres a movie we have started about 5 times. She watches it for about 10 minutes, and goes looking for something to do. But it calms her down. If they get out of control, destract them with something else, a movie, a quiet board game, even a book. Kids are EXTREAMLY unpredictable. Dont antisipate anything. Just go with the flow. React in the moment. Im not saying dont prepare activitys. Im saying dont plan how your going to react or what your going to say. Lastly, kids are sometimes selfish or messy. You cant get mad at them, their brains are still developkng and dont know how t o react to some situations. Just try to explain why they cant do something or why they need to pick something up. Sometimes it helps to get down on their level and crouch or sit on the floor so you dont seem like a giant to them and you seem like a kid too. And tantrums, walk away. Make sure they know, its not going to change your mind. But nicley. Ok i hope this helps(:
