You can but it is not advisable. The 205/50-16 tire will be .80" (3.22%) smaller in overall diameter. This will cause the speedometer to read 62 mph at a true 60 mph. Your engine will also turn 28 more rpms per mile. Handling, braking, power, and fuel mileage will be adversely effected. If you wish to go to a 50 series tire then install 225/50-16. This size will work perfectly and there will be no changes in any aspects of your vehicle except a slightly less comfortable ride due to the lower sidewall.
yes its true
no
Yes to the 205/50/r16 it will worl fine- no on the 205-55-r16 to tall and heavy
Yes you can. Search online for a tire calculator and you can compare sizes and how much it will be 'out' by (size and speed). You don't want anything with more than 5% difference, going from 205/50/R16's to 195/60/R15's (which I did for my focus) is only a difference of 3%
195/60/r15, 205/55/r15, 205/50/r16, 225/45/r17..... this information is also located inside the gas filler door The correct tire size for this car is 195 65 R15.
Yes, but don't do it. My 2003 Focus ZTS has 205-50-16s on it. Better for handling but good luck finding a decent tire for under $100.
225/50/r16
195/50/r16
No, this is an unacceptable swap. If you wish to go to a 50 series tire you should install 225/50-16 which is and excellent swap.
50, 205, 50.

No, if you wish to swap to 50 series tires then you have to go to 265/50-16 which will keep the overall diameter close to the same. You may have clearance issues on the side with this tire. My advise is to stick with the OEM size.
