No, this is a bad swap. If you want to go with a 65 series tire then install a 275/65-15 which is almost identical in overall diameter.
235/65-15 or 275/75-15 are very good substitutes.
You can but, the speedometer and odometer won't be acturate and your mpg will drop.
Have not seen a 15" tire in size 275/65-15. But if you can find one it will work pretty well.
255-65-16
255/65 R17
255/65-16
Yes. Your speedometer will be slightly off, but only by .95 MPH at 55 MPH and 1.12 MPH at 65 MPH.
235/60-15 or 215/65-15 are both acceptable swaps. I would go with the 215/65 as you may have clearance issues with the 235 series tire.
255 = width in mm 65 is the aspect ratio 65% of 255 mm in sidewall height. R = radial tire 16 = 16 inch diameter rim so the 70 tire is 1 inch taller overall and at a speedo reading of 60 you will be going 62.1mph
no they are metric.... nothing can replace them.
255 mm wide versus 245 mm wide. Can not answer for height since the second tire you listed as a 0 for the next number. The second number in a tire size is the aspect ratio of the side wall. If it is 65, that means the side wall is 65% of 255mm in height.
225/75-16 or 255/65-16
