Most likely not, unless its a Socket 754.
athlon
depends what its in the turion is a mobile processor so if ur gettin a laptop get the turion, if ur gettin a desktop get the athlon
Yes. AMD Turion is made for moblie/laptop copmputers. AMD Athlon has had mobile versions, but most of them are made for desktop computers. AMD Turion CPUs put out less heat than AMD Athlons (at the same speed) and there are some motherboards that do support them, but not all. If you want the CPU for a dektop computer, unless you know that the Turion is supported, Athlon is the CPU you want. Almost all laptops are sold 'preassembled' and as such you have no choice of what CPU is in the box (apart from the model/speed chosen).
In this case, the 75. But if you find a Athlon x2 QL-65, that is faster.
No doubt that amd turion x2 is better than athlon x2. So, I would suggest you to go for turion. But I want to know if core 2 duo is better than the turion x2. Any suggestions.
NO
The Turion series is designed for laptops, and thus consumes less power while producing less heat, the Athlon series is a desktop class processor, and thus consumes more power and produces more heat. For a laptop, I would recommend the Turion, but the Athlon will be slightly faster at the expense of very poor battery life.
No. The MSI KT4V is a Socket A motherboard. The AMD Mobile Athlon 64 3400 is Socket 754.
Turion 64 is based on Athlon 64's architecture, and the main difference between Turion 64 and Athlon 64 Mobile is the power consumption, which is lower on Turion 64: Athlon 64 Mobile dissipates 65 W while Turion 64 dissipates only 35 W (ML models) or 25 W (MT models). Another difference between them is the amount of L2 cache, which is always of 1 MB on Athlon 64 Mobile, while Turion 64 can have a L2 memory cache of 512 KB or 1 MB, depending on the model In addition - Athlon was developed mainly for desktop and turion for laptops Answer Overall Athlon range is economy version and has less performance compared to Turion which are relatively high end processors. Although initially Athlon name was used only for desktop processors, later both Turion and Athlon brands have been used for dual core processors designed for notebook computers. Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core processor family is AMD's most advanced family of dual-core processors made for mobility to date. Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor family is a more affordable relatively lower performance range of processors for notebook PCs. Exact specification and performance numbers depends on the model number of the processor in respective families. - Neeraj Sharma Yes, You are right neeraj, i agree with your answer.
AMD turion
It will depend on the exact processor model number. There are many processors in Turion and Core2Duo series with varying specifications. Core2Duo processors with similar specs outperforms Turion and Athlon in most benchmarks. AMD processors are overall cheaper. - Neeraj Sharma
