You will need to remove the front engine cover, on your 1997 Pontiac Bonneville, in order to change the supercharger belt. Loosen the tensioner pulley to remove the belt.
the coupler is probably worn out. replace it and the oil and it should be fine. if not then the bearing are bad but most of the time its just the coupler. http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=155&catid=106
most likely you will have to replace the hub bearing assembly autozone for about $80
put a socket on the tensioner pulley and pull on it until there is slack then just slip it off.
You need to replace the rear wheel hub - bearing and speed sensor inclusive
Take off the steering knuckle and press out the bearing and hub.Have the new bearing pressed in with the hub and re install the knuckle.
You don't have to replace the supercharger you will just have no performence power and bad gas milage, but you will not harm the supercharger. Same thing happen to me, year later I replaced my supercharger belt and supercharger was fine.....dont wait get it fixed dont hurt the GTP!!!!!
The front wheel bearings, of a Pontiac vibe, can be replaced by first removing the front wheel. Next, remove the axle end cap. Remove the bearing and reverse the process to install the new bearing.
supercharger oil for 2002 pontaic Bonneville ssi what is it and what is the best oil to replace it with?
this has to do with the sensor in the wheel bearing, unfortunatly the sensor and wheel bearing are one unit. first you have to find out which wheel bearing it is and then replace it, these can be expensive. I've had to replace both of mine within months of each other. take it to get a diagnostic done they can tell you which bearing it is.hope this helps
