Nonsense answers are an indication of the lack of maturity of the answerer. What is obvious to everyone is that "stupid" answers come from those with little or no knowledge to share. Not all of the users of the site are dedicated to giving useful, honest answers to the questions. Whatever their reasons, they should not be seen as representative of our valued users and contributors. They generally hide behind anonymous IP's. Even if a question appears "stupid", it deserves a serious answer. Questions that are obviously frivolous are routinely removed from the site. You should NOT answer a question with "that is stupid", or with any response that is not a polite, relevant, understandable answer to that question. "I don't know" is also not an answer, because the question is not to you individually. Let someone answer who knows. (Please be aware that continually posting nonsense, or non-answers, may result in removal of the offenders from the site. You can report unhelpful or insulting answers to any supervisor.)

The community there is more serious. Maybe they take better control over the answers given to make sure there is no spam and nonsense. Personally, today I discovered WikiAnswers with a Google search, and so far like it than yahoo. The reason there are more silly and nonsense answers here is that ANYONE can answer, not just a registered user. Many IP users abuse that privilege because they are anonymous. When an entire IP is blocked, other people suffer for their foolishness.

It depends what you mean by your question. What frustrates me - is the amount of vandalism and (obviously) nonsense answers posted on here. Most of the 'problems' are caused by people 'hiding' behind anonymous websites (instead of being registered users).

Partially Yes. In cases where a concrete answer can be provided, responsible answerers and community users would provide a correct answers. In other cases, they try to give the best possible opinion they have towards the question. Note: There are loads of people who try to waste their time in the community by posting nonsense as answers.
