1995 and later model vehicles require an OBDII scanner tool to retrieve the trouble codes. Most major auto parts stores (AutoZone, O'Reilly's, Adavance, etc) will do the scan free of charge. If you prefer to buy your own scanner tool, they are available at most auto parts stores or Walmart for about $60.00.
