The problem with reusing bb's is that they gather dust/dirt from the first time they are shot and hit something, which is then deposited in your gun. They also might get slightly misshaped, further causing problems. Both of these things can cause damage to you hop up chamber, and eventually lead to jams because of dirt build up in the barrel. If you are using a tight bore barrel I would say absolutely don't reuse bb's. If you have a good hop up unit I would also say absolutely don't reuse bb's. If you have a gun with no hop up and a large diameter barrel (6.06mm and bigger) it should be fine though. Also, spring guns are not affected as severely, so that should be fine too.

If a BB already being shot from an airsoft gun, it may have beared some cracks (though its invisible with bare eyes) or change it's shape (deteriorate) . If you use it again, you can damage your airsoft gun. Bio-degradable BBs will only decomposing in a specific conditions (i.e leave on a damp/wet soil for days) and will not decomposing in a normal storage conditions.
