Your best way would be to buy more memory, however anything lower than CS5 only supports up to 4gb of RAM due to its 32bit system. CS5 is 64-bit native so large amounts of memory can be used however you will need a 64-bit OS.NOTE: This is from a Windows user, Mac Premiere Pro RAM limitations are different but assumability this would still be a problem - though is not based on experience with Macs.If still unsure due to Mac usage visit Adobe support.

I like Movie Magix Pro Edit 14/15 myself. But, that's just my opinion. My opinion: You can get a student copy of Adobe Premiere CS5 for $199, worth every penny.
