I have 2GB of RAM and was constantly maxed out in the beta. I don't know that it won't run, but it won't run well.
It will work. Its been working for me. A little Laggy though on the videos but not on the game play. My PC specs are, Dell Gx280 2.8Gigz 1Gb Ram 1Gb GPU GS 8400.
