On a 2001 Lincoln Continental : The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is to the left of the drivers seat behind an access panel on the " B " pillar If you don't smell gas , or see any gas leaking , push the reset button down if it has popped up on the top of the switch Turn your ignition key to the RUN position for a few seconds and then turn your ignition key to the OFF position Make another check for the smell of gas or any gas leaking , if none , go ahead and start the engine
Cycle the ignition key three times from off-run, off-run, off-run. Then watch digital odometer display for codes. It will say "done" when all codes have been displayed.
Run OBD codes to check. It can be as simple as a plugged up PCV.
Code PO412 for your Lincoln means that the engine is currently misfiring, could be due to the timing is off, poor fuel, if your running regular in there, stop!, start putting anything higher then 91 octane, so 91 and up, but i wouldn't go past 93, that's what i run in my 01 continental.
