The dishwasher is more efficient, undoubtedly. Washing anything by hand, unless absolutely necessary, is a waste of time, water & energy. I recommend putting just about anything in the dishwasher: plates pots pans dishes, without rinsing. Try it out, let the dishwasher show you what it can do. Pots & pans will dull, but won't otherwise change. Teflon pans will wear, you have to decide if you want the ease of the dishwasher and replace them as needed. Don't put in cast iron pans, nor Great Aunt Agatha's China unless you are sure about it. If the dishwasher is not full, most dishwashers have a rinse-only option, run that rinse-only if you don't plan to run a full cycle in the dishwasher until the next day. Washing in the sink before you run a cycle adds the problem that dishwasher-soap usage is based on dirty dishes, not clean, you could be over sudsing. If you can, run the hot water faucet before starting the dishwasher, so that the dishwasher has to expend less electrical energy to heat the water to the correct temperature for the cycle.
A Do-While loop looks like this: do { loop body } while (condition); and a While loop looks like this: while (condition) { loop body } The main difference is that the loop body is always run once in the Do-While loop, then the condition is checked to see if the loop should keep running. In a While loop, the condition is checked first, and it will not run the loop body at all if the condition is false.
The grinder, or garbage disposal, may be broken for a number of reasons. If you are using it correctly and cutting items small enough for the grinder to handle before placing placing them down the drain, and using water while you run the disposal, there shouldn't be a problem. If you are using it correctly and the grinder still isn't working properly, the problem may be a broken belt or a worn out motor.
You can put the whole can in. Just be sure to run enough water with them.
Yes. Your dishwasher discharge hose is probably hooked into the side of the disposal. Running your disposal will not hurt the dishwasher.
The disposal has to be in place so that the drain on the dishwasher is connected. If you do not have a disposal or are removing it, there is a extension tube for the drain that has the dishwasher tube in it. The disposal does not have to work for the dishwasher to drain. The water is run through the disposal so that any food particles get ground before going in the drain. After a while, the disposal will begin to smell if it is not run.
Check and see if the water line going from the dishwasher to the disposal has enough slack to run up and over the connection to the disposal. If its just running along the cabinet floor and straight up into the disposal that's the problem. Its called an anti siphon loop
run cold water thru it for a minuint after you are done with it, cold water should be running while you use it also,
Yes if you do not you could break your garbage disposal.
You can run it straight through, but the whole reason for running it through the disposal is to catch anything comming off your dishes before it can clog up the pipes.

Only running the dishwasher when it is full can help to reduce and electricity bill that is high. When the dishwasher is run too frequently it can use large amounts of power and water, which can raise electricity bills quickly. In order to lower the bill, wait until the dishwasher is full before running it. This may mean that several days pass until it is run, or only running it once per week. If this is not frequent enough, consider hand washing dishes that are needed in the meantime to have clean dishes without having to run the dishwasher regularly..
It depends on your wants as well as your budget. An energy-saver will save you money washing dishes in the long run - especially if you are running the dishwasher every day.
Your air gap is not supposed to leak. Check the hose that leads from the air gap to the garbage disposal for a clog. This should resolve your problem.
Dishwashers are wonderful inventions, but they can get a sluggish or slow about what they do. To keep your dishwasher running smoothly and quickly, do these things every so often! Always remember to scrape plates and cups off and out before placing them in the dishwasher. The dishwasher's water could get dirty by washing plates with lots of excess food on them. Additionally, every once in awhile run your dishwasher while empty using vinegar. The vinegar will rid your dishwasher of all those nasty food particles that formally wouldn't leave, and it will also keep the inside of it smelling so fresh!
To deodorize a garbage disposal you can either put some baking soda in the drain and let it sit for a while or my favorite is to run lemon peels through the disposal after you do the dishes every night. You can use orange peels, too. Just make sure the pieces are small enough to run through without clogging it.
