It depends on what state you live in, but ballistic knives are illegal in all of the US.
I ordered a Leatherman Wave from Amazon today, I tried to order a keychain knife earlier in the year and they wouldn't allow it. But it looks like they can ship knives to Australia now, not sure if it's every knife though.
