In most states, it depends on the county. If you live in a city, it probably is illegal. If you don't live inside the city limits, it depends on the county laws. You should probably check with the local county sheriff.

The answer is probably, depending on where you live. Most places have restrictions on the use of firearms. Cities and towns particularly, where homes are close together. Many restrict any sort of weapon that shoots anything larger than a BB. The types of weapons that may be used in specific areas of the state may be subject to state laws.

And there are other ordinances which can be brought to bear, including noise and safety. Call your local law enforcement agency for specifics that will apply to you.

Depending on where you live, it may be. The fact that it's "your property" doesn't matter, you still have to abide by city ordinances unless there's a specific exception for private property.
