Yes: A Remington 870 shotgun with a modified choke will shoot any commercial shotgun slug.
The improved barrel should handle slugs with no problem, although it will not be quite as accurate as a slug barrel.
Yes.
They usually use a modified (medium) choke on the 870, unless it has choke tubes.
What do you want to know?
HR Ultra slug for sure.
Almost every gun shop worth its salt should have a slug barrel for the remington model 870,if not then they should be able to order one with no problem.
i would say between 500-800 dollars in good condition
Your 870 smooth bore with an IC choke is capable of accuracy well beyond 100 yards. You just need to find the brand/type/weight of slugs it likes best.
Yes, but pay attention to the choke tube. Anything tighter than a modified won't work. Sabot slugs CAN be shot from smoothbore, but you're just wasting money--they wont spin. With this setup, you're looking at a two, three, probably four inch groupings at 75 yards. The 870 is very popular, so looking for a rifled barrel/slug barrel is a great idea. Good luck! Jimmy
Remington 870 pump loaded with "OO" buckshot or rifled slug
You shoot at what is called a "patterning board" to determine the shot density at different distances (assuming that you are shooting shot and not slug). Your best bet is to buy a book. Check out Amazon.com or DBI books.
Depends on what it is choked.
Not recommended for full choke
