No. The 835 standard barrel is a backbored, oversized tube that the slug can get wedged sideways in. It's NOT safe to fire slugs of any type through it. They may work a few times....but there will come a time when it won't and it won't be pretty.
You can, however, switch the 835 barrel out for a 590a1 5+1 shot (six shot, NOT a nine shot!) barrel and fire slugs through it.
Yes and don't go any tighter than modified, it that.
that would be a silly thing to do, like taking a hammer to a flea
Can you Yes, should you NO. a full choke should not be used to shoot slugs.
n You will need to contact Mossberg to find out for sure.
Yes, but an easier method would be to sprinkle salt onto the slugs.
Yes. I duck hunt and my primary gun is an 835 Ulti-Mag. It is perfectly suitable to shoot steel through the 835, but make sure that your choke tube is suitable to do so. Yes. Depends on what the barrel is choked.
The mossberg Model 88 maverick can definitely shoot slugs and with fair accuracy too with the un-rifled stock barrel. Try the Winchester Super X 2 1/2 inch 1 oz. But hang on to it or it will hurt you. The recoil is roughly doubled.
Yes, a 500 stock will fit an 835 and an 835 stock will fit a 500. The 835 is simply a stretched 500 and the stock attachment point is identical. Both the forearms are identical as well.
Whatever the correct ammunition is for that gauge. Sabot-loaded slugs tend to be somewhat more accurate than so-called "rifled" slugs in most guns.
Yes, you may shoot slugs or buckshot through a shotgun fitted with the C-Lect Choke system. This is from the tag that Mossberg attaches to their shotguns fitted with C-Lect Chokes.
