As a rule- it is never a good idea to shoot a slug through a "choked" barrell. You may get lucky but as the result will almost certainly be injury or death, it should not be done. Slug barrells are available for just about any modern shotgun.
Choking a slug round serves NO purpose. Chokes are designed to tighten a shot pattern and increase the distance a shotgun is accurate and effective.
Yes, but you should use choke tubes specifically designed for slugs OR nothing tighter than Improved Cylinder. sales@countrygunsmith.net
As long as its choked modified or more open, BUT ONLY AFTER IT HAS BEEN EXAMINED BY A GOOD GUNSMITH!
Yes, with a straight barrel, no choke.
NO!! A choke makes slugs dangerous. DO NOT fire slugs through ANY choke, ever. The life you save may be your own.
if it has a choke like poly and or screw in choke dont shoot slugs as it can dammage it
It is not recommended to shoot slugs with a power pack chock on a JC Higgins model.
Simply put, no.
Can you Yes, should you NO. a full choke should not be used to shoot slugs.
You can shoot slugs in a double. Slugs are best shot through a cylinder bore or improved cylinder choke. The tighter the choke, the more they will be disrupted. There is risk of excessive wear and damage through a tight choke--tighter than Modified Choke.
Yes, you may shoot slugs or buckshot through a shotgun fitted with the C-Lect Choke system. This is from the tag that Mossberg attaches to their shotguns fitted with C-Lect Chokes.
Some bolt action shotguns had an adjustable choke, and it is generally NOT recommended that slugs be fired through those. If there is no adjustable choke at the muzzle, your shotgun should be fine. Stay with rifled slugs.
Slugs in Goose gun? Not a good idea to shoot Foster slugs in full choke, although it can be done safely, accuracy will suffer. That's Foster slugs only! Remington and Winchester. It's better to have a screw-in choke system installed, then you can use an open choke tube for slugs. Try Johnny's chokes:www.angelfire.com/ok2/shotgunchokes/index.html
yes for a shotgun you need a rifle barrel DO NOT shoot slugs if you have a poly-choke!
Unless it is a full choke, the answer is generally yes.
Slugs will shoot safely through any choke but Improved cylinder or full cylinder should work.
