Can you smoke weed and take doxycycline?

I suppose it would depend on how many mg you were taking, how much weed you smoked, and what type of person you were. I know that I will not smoke again while taking doxycycline because I had a bad experience.

I smoke weed and im on that for my acne im fine actually the first time i took it i did DXM and smoke a couple of bowls and im fine so im sure youll be ok

I am a licensed Aesthetician and I work in a Dermatology office. It is my experience with many patients that come for their acne treatments, that smoking marijuana only makes their skin worse. I don't think there is any interaction with the actual medication and marijuana. However I am not a doctor or pharmacologist but I do know that smoking either cigarettes, crack, meth, and marijuana- all rob the skin of oxygen and nutrients, therefore wrecking the skin. A case in point was a young man that I treated for about two years, he was on Doxycycline the entire time. His acne did not improve at all!!! Then he stopped coming for 2 months. When he returned for treatment, his skin was crystal clear, with not one acne blemish. When I asked what he had done differently he informed me that he was in rehab for marijuana and alcohol abuse, and for the last two months he did not smoke or drink. Within a few months his acne returned and when I questioned him he told me he was back to smoking. So, although you may have smoked a few bowls and didn't feel any differently or feel ill, chances are you skin hasn't improved either. My advice to you, is put down the pipe, take your doxycycline, listen to your parents and stop smoking pot. Your skin to improve. and so will your life. If you continue to smoke, you can guarantee, you skin will not improve. Along with smoking marijuana come a whole bunch of bad habits, not washing your face, not eating nutritional meals, sleeping too much, these habits all contribute to bad skin. The choice is yours.

The real reason your not suppose to mix Weed and doxycycline is that the active component in Weed (THC) attaches to white blood cells and compete with doxycycline for transportation through the body. Worst case, there is already too much THC in your bloodstream and it prevents the medicine from doing it's job.

Blood is the highway of the body and blood cells are cars. When you smoke weed it increases traffic and makes reaching your destination take longer. All that bull the guy above me wrote sounds like the rambling of a weed hater and a condescending one at that but for the sake of getting the best possible results I would quit 48 hours prior to taking your first pill or as soon as possible during. After you get the results that you want then you may resume smoking or you not.

I'm not hear to preach just give empirical information.
