It is not safe at all to do so.
It is definitely not a good idea, a thumping noise usually means it has a large bubble, belts are broken or part of the tread is missing. Driving would be unsafe because a blow out of that nature, you could lose control of the car, not able to stop and possibly get into an accident.
If it is a thumping and a front wheel drive car, it is probably one of the axles.
A flat tyre on the driver side?how about duct tape on the tire, or fender well is hitting tire.
Its a slipped belt. Or even a bubble. My car did that only when i broke the stablizer.
No !!!!!!!!!!!
My question is: What sound does a lion make ? Roar.
Maybe that thumping noise is the sound of another car smashing into the rear of your car.
The inside volume of the tire has not changed, so the pressure will not change.
Most likely a bad tire.
Rear wheel drive: Possibly a worn universal joint on the drive shaft. Front wheel drive: possibly worn CV joints on the front drive shafts.
Yes, you can still drive it. You may have a tire out of balance or a wheel bearing getting bad. However, have a mechanic check it out soon.
I wouldn't trust it. Have a Tire shop check it out soon.
