Don't be discouraged. If you have a combined score of 998, I would try taking it again, after you understand why your score was low. When you receive your report, it should also include an explanation of the areas that you had problems with.
Before you take the test again, why don't you get copies of the old SAT tests and practice with them over the next 5 weeks. The book that has 10 SAT tests is the College Board's Official SAT Study Guide, which you can purchase at any bookstore or from Amazon for about $20. (Skip the other books like Princeton, Kaplan, Peter's, etc..) If you sign up for the June SAT, you will have about 3 and 1/2 months to prepare. Practice the tests, look up your answers to see which questions are wrong, then try to understand how to answer it correctly. If you have difficulty, get a friend to help you understand.
As for colleges, yes, there are some colleges that will accept you with an SAT score of 998. They may require you to take some remedial math and English classes to strengthen your background. It will also give you time to think about what you want to do. Colleges always have counseling services, so use them to guide you with making the change from high school to college. Good Luck!
