Its part of the game to start playing as Jack, there is no way you can play as John again. You can get undead nightmar to play as him witch takes place after ur home with your family but switched up a little bit. u die at the end but u play as john as a zombie

No. After you die you become his son Jack and then from what I know you cannot become John again
