So long as there are no serious problems with the horse you can ride it. Many horses are ridden well into their teens and even twenties with no ill effects.

you go to the paddock holding the horses your options to ride is either Altai or a wild horse you brought back from the reserve (you can only hold 1 wild horse at a time in the paddock)but when the qualifications for the legends cup and the legends cup itself Altai falls ill and then you have to ride the horse brownie or a wild horse so you have to have the arrow on top of the horse of your choice and then you click the b button when it says get on the horse then it takes you to the area out of the ranch

The reason a horse has to be healthy is because ... If you have a horse you probably want to ride it ,you cant if its ill . The vet bills are more expensive to a sick horse . You could go to court for animal cruelty if your horse has been neglected and end up with your horse being taken or a BIG fine.
