If you clip any bird's wings to the same length, they will still be able to fly awkwardly. When you clip a bird's wings for the purpose of stopping them flying, be sure to just clip the long flight feather at the end of one wing, not both wings. Be gentle, and be sure not to cut the bird itself.

well i dont know exactly what happens when your parakeet falls but when i let my parakeet out he accidently hit his head then fell then got up and continued flying nothing bad happened to my parakeet so i dont think parakeet gets hurt when it falls
Just continue trying to finger train it. Eventually, your parakeet will sit on your finger without flying off for a while.
It relly depends on the bird's personality and how much flying excersise it has had.

If it gets out of its cage it will be flying and flapping its wings like a crazy bird. They are pretty hard to catch but never leave a parakeet in its cage for the rest of its life. Give it some exercise :) your bird will be nice and healthy! :D
